Beaches and Marina

There are many beautiful beaches in Los Cabos. Here are a few of the ones to look out for and visit. We have organized them by location and included some basic points about each.

SAN JOSE DEL CABO

La Playita - Quiet beach, ok for good swimmers. Access from town center on the marked roadway for about 1.5 km. This is where the local fishing boats are located.

Playa Hotelera (Hotel Beach) - Not recommended for swimming. Access across from La Costa condominiums by the beachfront hotels.

Playa Palmilla Beach - Safe and calm, perfect for children, good snorkelling. Access at the Pamilla Hotel near highway exit at 26 km just outside San Jose.

THE GOLDEN CORRIDOR

Playa Santa Maria - very good for swimming, snorkelling and photography. Access at the Twin Dolphin Hotel near highway exit at 11.5 km.

Playa Bledito - Good for swimming. Access at the Hotel Melia Cabo Real near highway exit at 19.5 km.

Playa Las Viudas - very good swimming with excellent tide pools and good snorkelling. Access near the Twin Dolphin Hotel at exit 11 km and about 1 km on dirt road.

CABO SAN LUCAS

Playa El Medano - Long beach near the marina with plenty of motorized watertoys for rent. Access from marina entrance near Plaza Las Glorias in Cabo San Lucas city center.

Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach) - Small beach good for snorkelling and picnics. Access by water taxi or the glass bottom boat from the Cabo San Lucas marina.

Airports and Transportation

Transportation to and from the airport is provided via shuttlebus. For a small fee the shuttle bus delivers you to your destination along a predetermined route that includes stops at all the major hotels. It takes 20 minutes to reach CasaDelCabo from the airport.

Public bus transportation is frequent and inexpensive from San Jose del Cabo through the scenic oceanside corridor to downtown Cabo San Lucas and the duration of the ride is only 35 minutes. Car rentals are readily available in Los Cabos on a daily or weekly basis.
